The Port of Portland selects Weblogics

One of Australia’s most progressive Port Authorities, the Port of Portland in Southern Victoria has selected Weblogic’s masthead products Intralogic and Emailogic. The new systems will provide enterprise content management, business process automation and improve governance and auditabiity of business processes. The decision was made to go with Weblogics after a market evaluation and as part of a major overhaul of the Port of Portland’s IT systems. Other products selected include NetSuite for ERP and Financials.
The Port of Portland specialises in bulk commodities, particularly agricultural, forestry and mining products as well as aluminium and fertiliser. It has approximately five million tonnes in annual throughput, which is expected to grow to seven million tonnes by 2013.It is one of the largest bulk terminals in Australia. The export trade includes grain, wood-chips, logs, aluminium ingots and livestock, while import commodities are alumina, liquid pitch and fertiliser products.
Paul Franklin, Project Manager for the new systems rollout said ‘ Intralogic and Emailogic will provide a central point for all documents and email content as well as provide archival capabilities, using state-of-the-art online processes.’
